with the Civil War Chronicles quilt! I have 3 months waiting for me to finish. Month 2 is at least washed, cut, and some of the pieces are stitched together. I’ve promised myself that I will take on ZERO new for fun personal projects until I finish the ones I have waiting. Two in particular I hope to finish by the end of the summer, a crochet granny square vest for a good friend from college and a lap quilt for my youngest sister (started in May 2008!).
Got all the pieces for month 2 cut. There were more to cut this month than last and I’ve got to get 4 blocks stitched. Lots to do!
Aren’t these two patterns particularly pretty? The second one looks so modern, but it’s a reproduction!
Finally finished handsewing month 1′s block late last week. Like the look so far, don’t you? The fabrics are quite lovely. This block will be in the center of the quilt and is about 16 inches square.

Last week while I was at the Illuminated Manuscripts workshop in Austin, I received the first month of the Civil War Chronicles quilt project in the mail. They had so much snow up in the Midwest and a delay in receiving the fabric from the manufacturer that the pattern and fabric didn’t come until February! That’s ok because I was busy with other things in January. So today I made the templates and cut out all the pieces. On to hand piecing!
