Poodles Gothic
***Unfortunately, I can no longer offer these cards for sale. The long and the short of it is that VAGA, the copyright holder, doesn't want anyone making money from this image even if it's a parody (which is generally not included). They wanted to charge me a very large fee just to sell my work. This is what a lawyer friend says about it,
"In 1988, Nan transferred ownership to the Visual Artists and Galleries Association (VAGA) which will hold the copyright until 2025. VAGA also claims "rights of publicity" in Nan's image which will last until 2060. VAGA takes a very expansive view of its copyright claims and argues that it has both veto power and royalty rights to any recognizably similar work. For example, VAGA does not want the American Gothic image used in alcohol advertisements and has successfully had such ads pulled. Biel's book contains no reference to the amount of money made from licensing the work but one can only conclude that it must be massive."
Although I cannot offer these cards for sale any longer, I'm happy to give 1 away per order since I know many people enjoy this design. You can still request the card below, but I can no longer sell any prints or cards with this image. I am very sorry.

This card is based on Grant Wood's painting American Gothic.
These cards are laser printed on 80# cardstock and handcolored. All cards are 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and the envelopes are size A2, 4-3/8 x 5-3/4 inches. All cards are blank inside unless you'd like a custom handlettered note. Individual cards are packaged in clear cello wrappers and sets have a blue ribbon tied around them unless you request a gift box.
Five percent of all sales goes to animal organizations and animal rescue groups and shelters.
